About

Our Project

Ambrosia Culinary & Gourmet Tours was created with the goal of delighting travelers with a variety of culinary and gourmet experiences in Ecuador. We feel inspired not only by the ingredients and flavours found in this country, but also by the diverse regional cuisine and culinary tradition that is available all year around.

Ecuador is well-known for its variety of landscapes and endless possibilities to encounter nature. The Galapagos Islands, the Amazonia, the magnificent Highlands and its colourful Indigenous markets are only a few of the major sites that appeal to tourists who travel to this small but diverse country located in the middle of the world. But its cuisine and culinary tradition are still hidden gems. With its privileged climate and assorted regions, Ecuador has a tremendous variety of dishes, ingredients, spices that mixed together in perfect harmony to produce an Ambrosia experience.

In ancient Greek and Roman mythology, Ambrosia is known to signify the food and drink of the gods. It comes from the Greek word Ambrotos, whose origins suggest immortality providing eternal youth to whoever consumed it. In present times, Ambrosia is used to describe something very pleasing to taste or smell. In an effort to capture the essence of our project, we chose Ambrosia because the term conveys the true meaning of what this experience is all about: high quality culinary and gourmet adventures for cuisine connoisseurs, savvy or potential cooks and travelers interested in experiencing culture through taste.

Our tours accommodate small groups to ensure a personalized and exclusive service. Each tour varies in length, format, food theme and price, so we invite you to check all the adventures we have available for you at different dates during the year. If you are travelling solo or as a couple, Ambrosia is a great activity to share with your partner or to meet other like minded people. If you are travelling within a group, Ambrosia offers fun and unique adventures that guarantee making your travel experience memorable. If you have a specific idea or would like to discuss a gourmet adventure just for you, contact us and we will be pleased to help you design your own. Please, note that this option is only available for groups of minimum 6 people.

Please, browse our website so you can learn more about the Ambrosia concept and to find out about the Tours & Adventures offered all year around. Keep coming back to visit us! We are constantly adding more culinary experiences to our inventory as well as discounts and promotions.

Rosamelia Andrade

RosameliaOne of the activities that Rosamelia enjoys the most when traveling is discovering the local culture and cuisine scouting out the restaurants and food stands that cities have to offer. Inspired by her passion for food, cooking, fresh and local ingredients combined with travel, the idea of Ambrosia came to exist as a way to promote the local and traditional food of the country where she grew up: Ecuador. Food has always been an essential part of her life because in her culture the best conversations and most remarkable moments occur around meals, whether with family or friends.
